The brief
A car accident happens when you least expect it, a split-second of distraction and a loud bang. That's what happened to a regular customer of ours driving his 320i: another car coming the other way crashed into the divider, and the impact took out the right headlight, the bumper and the fender. Because he was already a regular with us, we were authorised to handle the motor insurance claim and the repair from start to finish. After an accident there's stress and anxiety on top of the damage, so the job was both: take the claim and the repair off his hands, keep him updated, and put the car back to how it was, properly, with warranty.
The diagnosis
The damage assessment covered the front-right of the car, the right headlight, the bumper and the fender, plus anything behind them, and built the repair scope for the claim. With the customer authorising us to handle it, we set the claim in motion and kept him updated through it. The work needed was the damaged parts replaced or repaired, the bodywork brought back to true, and the paint refinished to match. So it was an accident repair handled end-to-end: the insurance claim managed from the start, a courtesy car arranged, and the 320i restored to factory standard.
The work
We managed the insurance claim and kept the owner updated throughout, and arranged a courtesy car so he wasn't stuck while the 320i was in. On the car, the right headlight, bumper and fender were replaced with genuine BMW parts, the bodywork brought back to true, and the paint refinished and blended to match, every part to factory standard, no compromised or scrapped parts. The car was checked over and detailed before handover. A final inspection confirmed the front straight and aligned, the new headlight aimed, the paint matched and finished cleanly, and the 320i looking as it did before the accident.
The outcome
The 320i restored to its original condition with warranty, front panels straight, the new headlight aimed and working, the paint matched, and the claim handled without the owner having to chase it, with a courtesy car through the downtime. The customer got his car back as good as new, and the stress of the claim taken off him. We don't compromise with cheap or refurbished parts, because inadequately repaired accident damage can be dangerous, so the 320i went home properly restored with our state-of-the-art facilities and qualified team behind it.
