The brief
The A200 came in for its regular service, the owner keeping it on schedule, the kind of owner who'd rather catch a small problem early than meet a big one later. That's exactly what a service is for. A proper service runs through the whole car: change the engine oil and filter, replace the air and cabin filters, check and top the fluids, look over the brakes, suspension, steering and electrical side, test the battery under load, run a full diagnostic scan, and eyeball the belts, hoses and underbody. Anything found gets reported and sorted. Done on time, it's the cheapest insurance there is, and on a well-kept car like this one it's mostly about keeping it that way.
The diagnosis
The comprehensive inspection went through everything, and the A200 came out of it in impeccable shape, a clean bill of health: the brakes with plenty of pad and disc life, the belts, hoses, suspension and underbody all sound, the battery strong on load, and no fault codes stored. The only items due were the routine ones, the oil and filters and a couple of fluids. So it was a straight service: replace the wear items, freshen the fluids, scan it clean, and hand it back.
The work
The engine oil was drained and refilled with the correct Mercedes-spec oil and a new oil filter fitted. The air and cabin filters were replaced, the fluids topped to spec, the brakes cleaned and adjusted, and a full diagnostic scan run with no codes left stored. The belts, hoses, suspension and underbody were checked over and the tyres set to the right pressures. A quick run confirmed a clean start, steady running, and nothing leaking.
The outcome
A clean bill of health on the A200, fresh oil and filters, fluids topped, brakes checked, and a clean diagnostic scan. Back on the road for another interval. The car went home serviced properly. A service done on time is what keeps a car in this kind of condition, and the comprehensive inspection that comes with it is what confirms it's staying there.
