The brief

A loyal customer brought his GLC250 in for a full health check and service. He keeps the car on schedule and wanted it gone over thoroughly, which is exactly what a service plus a comprehensive check is for, catching the small stuff and the wear before either becomes a problem. A proper service with a full health check runs through the lot: change the engine oil and filter, replace the air and cabin filters, check and top the fluids, look over the brakes, suspension, steering and electrical side, test the battery under load, run a full diagnostic scan, and eyeball the belts, hoses, tyres and underbody. Anything found gets reported and sorted. Done on time, it's the cheapest insurance there is.

The engine oil and filter changed on the Mercedes-Benz GLC250.

The diagnosis

The full health check and diagnostic scan went through everything. The engine oil and filter were due, the air and cabin filters near the end of their life, and a couple of fluids wanting topping. The brakes had healthy pad and disc life left, the suspension, belts, hoses, tyres and underbody checked out clean, the battery tested fine on load, and no fault codes were stored. So it was a straight service: replace the wear items, freshen the fluids, scan it clean, and hand it back, with the rest of the car given a clean bill of health.

The air and cabin filters replaced during the service.
The brakes and suspension checked over on the lift.

The work

The engine oil was drained and refilled with the correct Mercedes-spec oil and a new oil filter fitted. The air and cabin filters were replaced, the fluids topped to spec, the brakes cleaned and adjusted, and a full diagnostic scan run with no codes left stored. The suspension, belts, hoses, tyres and underbody were checked over and the tyres set to the right pressures. A quick run confirmed a clean start, steady running, and nothing leaking.

The belts, hoses, tyres and underbody inspected.

The outcome

A clean bill of health on the GLC250, fresh oil and filters, fluids topped, brakes and suspension checked, and a clean diagnostic scan. Back on the road for another interval. The car went home serviced and given the once-over. A service with a full health check is what keeps a car reliable, and it's why a loyal customer keeps coming back.

A full diagnostic scan run with no fault codes stored.
