Scratch removal

Scratch removal is the repair of surface scratches in a car's clear coat or base coat, ranging from machine polishing to a full panel respray.

What it means

Scratches are graded by how deep they go. Light scratches that have only dulled the clear coat (visible under sunlight, cannot be felt with a fingernail) can usually be polished out without any spray work, the same way swirl marks are removed during paint correction. Medium scratches that catch a fingernail have likely cut into the clear coat or base coat and may need wet-sanding plus polishing or, in many cases, a partial respray of the panel. Deep scratches that show primer or bare metal under the line require fill, sand, primer, base coat, and clear coat to repair properly. Indicative pricing for scratch removal at Revol Carz is from S$200 per panel, depending on which path is needed. We recommend bringing the car in for a 5-minute look rather than guessing from a phone photo.

Why it matters in Singapore

Singapore daily drivers pick up scratches from gates, key drag, hawker centre kerbs, and other cars in tight carparks. Over a 10-year COE term, those scratches add up visually. Most can be removed cosmetically without insurance involvement, which makes scratch removal one of the most common services for owners who care about how their car looks.

How Revol Carz handles this

Revol Carz inspects each scratch in person and quotes a flat price upfront. Light scratches are polished out in a paint correction session. Deeper scratches go through our spray painting workflow with Spies Hecker paint, computerised colour matching, and oven-baked curing.
