BMW 520D, resprayed and back to a deep gloss.

Years of scratches across several panels had taken their toll, so this BMW 520D came in for a full exterior respray, finished with a ZeTough Ceramic Paint Protection coating.

What the car came in for

The paintwork on this BMW 520D had picked up plenty of scratches across different panels. The owner wanted to give the car a fresh start, so it came in for a full exterior respray.

Over the course of a week the team dismantled the necessary parts, checked the body for damage, patched and wet-sanded the panels smooth, masked off the non-painted surfaces, and resprayed the car in the booth. A ZeTough Ceramic Paint Protection coating went on at the end for a lasting, mirror-like shine. The photos below follow the car from arrival to the finished reveal.

What a full respray involves

A full respray is mostly preparation. Before any colour goes on, the team dismantles the parts that come off, patches chips, wet-sands the whole body smooth, and masks off every surface that should not be painted. A sound, even foundation is what makes the final finish look right.

  • Removable parts dismantled before any spraying
  • Chips patched and the body wet-sanded smooth
  • Every non-painted surface masked before spraying
  • Buffed to a deep shine and sealed with ZeTough Ceramic

Once the car is sprayed in the booth, the paint is wet-sanded and buffed to bring up the shine, the trim and parts are refitted, and a ZeTough Ceramic Paint Protection coating is applied on top to keep the finish glossy and protected for years.
