Mercedes-Benz SLK200, resprayed and back to its best.

The owner wanted this SLK200's paintwork brought back to the way it looked when new. The car came in for a full exterior respray, finished with a ZeTough Ceramic Paint Protection coating.

What the car came in for

The owner of this Mercedes-Benz SLK200 wanted his car brought back to its showroom condition. The paintwork had lost its shine, so the car came in for a full exterior respray.

Over the course of a week the team dismantled the necessary parts, inspected and patched every paintwork imperfection, wet-sanded the body smooth, masked off the non-painted surfaces, and resprayed the car in the booth. A ZeTough Ceramic Paint Protection coating went on at the end to lock in the gloss. The photos below follow the car from arrival to the finished reveal.

From masking to the reveal

What a full respray involves

A full respray is mostly preparation. Before any colour goes on, the team patches chips, wet-sands the whole body smooth, and masks off every surface that should not be painted. A sound, even foundation is what makes the final finish look right.

  • Full exterior coat applied in a dedicated spray booth
  • Buffed to a deep shine and sealed with ZeTough Ceramic

Once the car is sprayed in the booth, the paint is wet-sanded and buffed to bring up the shine, the trim and parts are refitted, and a ZeTough Ceramic Paint Protection coating is applied on top to keep the finish glossy and protected for years.
