Exhaust tip polishing
Exhaust tip polishing is the cleaning and polishing of chrome or stainless exhaust tips to remove soot staining and restore shine.
What it means
Exhaust tip polishing is the cleaning and polishing of the visible metal tips at the rear of the exhaust system, usually chrome or stainless steel. As an engine runs, it deposits carbon soot inside and around the tip. Over time that soot builds into a dark, sticky film, and the metal can also dull, discolour, or develop a heat-tinted blue or brown patch from exhaust temperature. A normal wash with shampoo barely touches this, since the deposits are baked-on and oily rather than loose dirt. Polishing the tips means first cleaning out the soot, often with a dedicated metal cleaner worked in with a cloth or pad, then using a metal polish to cut through any remaining stain and oxidation and bring the surface back to a bright finish. Tighter areas around the inner lip are reached with a brush. Done properly it leaves the tips looking close to new and gives the back of the car a finished look. It is a cosmetic step: it improves appearance and does not change how the exhaust performs.
Why it matters in Singapore
Singapore's stop-start city traffic and frequent short trips mean engines spend a lot of time idling and never fully clearing the exhaust, which lets soot accumulate on the tips quickly. The constant humidity also encourages dull spotting and discolouration on bare metal. Tarnished tips stand out against an otherwise clean car, so regular polishing keeps the rear of the car looking as sharp as the rest of it.
How Revol Carz handles this
Revol Carz includes exhaust tip polishing in its detailed grooming work. The team clears the baked-on soot, polishes the chrome or stainless metal back to a bright finish, and works a brush into the inner lip so the tips match the freshly cleaned bodywork.
