Paint protection

Matte PPF

Matte PPF is a satin-finish paint protection film that guards against chips and scratches while leaving a flat, non-reflective look on the paint.

What it means

Matte PPF is a paint protection film made with a satin or matte topcoat instead of a glossy one. It does the same protective job as gloss film: it absorbs stone chips, resists scratches, and shields the paint from road grime and chemical staining. The difference is the finish it leaves. Light scatters across the textured topcoat rather than reflecting cleanly, so the panel reads as flat and understated. The film can be used two ways. It can protect a car that already has a factory matte finish, keeping that delicate paint safe without changing its look. It can also convert glossy factory paint to a matte appearance, a reversible alternative to a full respray. One important rule: matte film cannot be buffed or polished back to gloss. Any attempt to compound it leaves shiny patches, so its washing and care routine is different from gloss surfaces.

Why it matters in Singapore

Factory matte paint is notoriously hard to live with in Singapore, where frequent washes, harsh UV, and acidic rain can scar a flat finish permanently. Matte PPF takes that risk off the paint itself. For owners who want the matte look without committing to matte paint, the film also gives a reversible option that protects resale value, since the original gloss is untouched underneath.

How Revol Carz handles this

Revol Carz fits matte paint protection film over fully decontaminated paint, with edges wrapped cleanly for a factory-tight result. We explain how matte care differs from gloss, including which products and wash methods keep the finish even and which to avoid. For owners who want extra chemical resistance, a matte-compatible ZeTough ceramic coating can be layered on top.
