ODIS

ODIS, short for Offboard Diagnostic Information System, is Volkswagen Group's official diagnostic software, used across Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, and SEAT.

What it means

ODIS replaced VAG's earlier VAS-PC platform and is the current dealer-grade tool for every modern VAG vehicle. Connected through the OBD-II port via a brand-specific interface, ODIS reads every module on the car, runs guided diagnostics, performs adaptations after parts replacement, and codes new modules to the VIN. Generic OBD-II readers can pull powertrain fault codes; ODIS does that and everything else. Many common VAG jobs (mechatronic adaptation after fluid change, electronic parking brake reset for brake service, throttle-body adaptation, key programming, software updates) require ODIS-equivalent functionality. Independent VAG specialists either use ODIS directly (with a license) or use VCDS (a third-party tool with similar capabilities for many functions). Both are vastly more capable than a generic scanner.

Why it matters in Singapore

Singapore VAG owners (Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda) often discover the difference between generalist and specialist workshops on the first job that needs proper coding. A workshop that swaps parts but cannot adapt them to the car ends up sending owners back with warning lights still on or systems running in default mode.

How Revol Carz handles this

Revol Carz Garage runs VAG-spec diagnostics (ODIS-equivalent) on every Audi, Volkswagen, and Skoda job. Coding and adaptation are included where required, with a post-repair scan to verify the system is clean.
